Day 1: December 21, 2009 Itinerary
Ngong Ping Cable / Lantau Island
Mongkok Midnight Market
Arrived before lunch at Hongkong Airport and with our luggage still in tow we went straight to Ngong Ping Cable Car ride which is just few kms. away from the airport to save our time. We left our luggage at an electronic locker that we rented at Tung Chung terminal.
Ngong Ping Cable Car has several gondola lift that can accommodate up to 8 pax and will travel around 6 kms. from Tung Chung station up until Ngong Ping at Lantau Island where the Po Lin Monastery and Tian Tan Buddha are both located.
You can choose between Ngong Ping 360 Standard Cabin or the Crystal Cabin that has a glass bottom floor. We bought the standard cabin ride tickets that took us around 30 mins. from Tung Chung Terminal to Ngong Ping Village at Lantau Island.

Too bad, we became too lazy to go up to see the Tian Tan Buddha Statue up close but my other sis and her family went up there.
We had our late lunch at Ngong Ping Garden Restaurant but I didn't enjoyed the food hehe..
Super cold that day! My mom is having a hard time coping with the coldness eventhough she's already wearing her winter jackets.
