DAY2 - Part2: Laoag-Pagudpud-Vigan Tour- Cape Bojeador Lighthouse

DAY 2: May 1, 2013 (Wednesday)
Burgos Lighthouse (Cape Bojeador Lighthouse), Kapurpurawan Rock, Bangui Windmills and Pagudpud

~~
From Texicano Hotel in Laoag City, I asked the tricycle to take us to the terminal going to Pagudpud.

A non-aircon mini bus with Pagudpud signboard was waiting for passengers. My niece and I were seated apart bec. the bus is almost full.

Mini-bus Fare: P25.00 each till Burgos
Travel Time: 1 hour

I got so excited when I saw the lighthouse from afar and couldn't wait to get off the bus. We boarded off at the Cape Boajeador signage and there are lots of tricycles parked waiting for passengers. I hired a tricycle to tour us at Lighthouse, Kapurpurawan Rock and Windmills for P300.00 fee .

Note: tricycles from Burgos are not allowed anymore to tour up to Pagudpud unlike in the previous years.

Cape Bojeador LighthouseCape Bojeador Lighthouse, also known as Burgos Lighthouse, is a historical landmark struccture locates at Burgos, Ilocos Norte  and was built during the Spanish times here in the Philippines. It was designed by Engineer Magin Pers y Pers in 1887 and was first lit on March 30, 1892, and guided ships entering the Philippine waters for many years. It is magnificently nestled in Vigia de Nagparitan Hill.
Cape Bojeador LighthouseThe lighthouse was simply amazing! The old walls made of bricks, windows and doors are still original and you will be left in admiration on  how these structures still stands today. However, NO ONE is allowed anymore to go up till the lighthouse tower because the structures (ladder) are already weak.

We stayed at Cape Bojeador for almost an hour and right after that we head to KAPURPURAWAN ROCK.

How to get there:
~Vigia de Nagparitan Hill is along Maharlika Highway in Baranggay Paayas in Burgos, Ilocos Norte

1. From Laoag City, you can ride the non- aircon mini-bus (just like we did) and board off at the signage of Cape Bojeador in Burgos just beside the tourism center (a mini-kubo/hut) or ride an aircon bus going to Pagudpud.

2. Ride the tricycle and you'll pass the winding road leading to the parking lot.

3. If you have a vehicle just stop at the signage and go directly to the parking lot.

4. Travel time may take only 3-5 mins.

Our Next stop: Kapurpurawan Rock Formation !!
