How to go to Taytay Tiangge / Tiangge Schedules

Taytay, Rizal is my hometown and it is know as the "GARMENTS CAPITAL OF THE PHILIPPINES". Why? We have heaps of stores that sells fabrics/cloths/textiles that can bought by retail, bulk or by kilo and of course Taytay is also popular because of its TIANGGE, where super affordable RTW clothes, dresses/shorts, skirts, shirts, bags and more can be purchased.

Would you believe that many of the stores online like IG (instagram), FB, stalls in Market Market, Divisoria, Baclaran and Greenhills etc. get their supplies here in Taytay tiangge? Yes..... you read it right. Many of the sellers buy here in bulk or wholesale and they will sell them at a much higher price of course online and on other tiangges or markets.

Taytay Tiangge is located near the new Taytay Public Market and Club Manila East and it is haven of garment Producers, Retailers and Wholesalers. Actually there are many tiangges there like BAGPI, MY SEOUL, FREEDOM, TENT and TAYTAY MUNICIPAL TIANGGE / MAYORA and they are just near each other. Heaps of clothes from kids, teens, women's, mens, even plus sizes  and over run products can be bought there. Just be patient in looking for what you want as there are too many stalls. As in marami talaga.!!

Christmas and Family Photoshoot at Louisse Private Resort - Taytay,Rizal

My 2 sisters and their family living in Australia and Riyadh went home for the Christmas holidays few years back and it was the time we're all complete (sans my dad). Nothing compares to the bonding times that we had as a family. Since we are complete, we decided to have a family portrait that we all can keep. Looking for a place where we can have our photoshoot, my sister stumbled upon LOUISSE PRIVATE RESORT online, which happens to be just near our place. She browsed their website and inquired while she's still in Riyadh.

I was the one who was assigned to contact them through phone and I immediately book a slot for us. I called them via phone, reserved a slot and paid the downpayment at BPI. We took the 22 hours reservation that is from 7:00pm-5:00pm for P21,000 and luckily we got the DEC. 25 (yes, Christmas day) - Dec. 26 slots for our photoshoot and swimming too. We also did visit the place few days before our reserved date to see if it nice and we're impressed upon closer inspection of the place.

We had our Christmas Party at the resort: opening of gifts and family picture taking were indeed so much fun. A karaoke was also available for us to sing while wi-fi is available but it is weak that we can't even connect. We stayed up a bit late singing at the karaoke and exchanging stories, jokes and all.

Louisse Resort at night

Since we are having a formal photoshoot the next day, we woke up early around 5am because the make-up artists are already there. We are clad in red formal dresses and with our nice make-up on. We took the photography services from GREAT IMAGE at SM Taytay. A professional photographer and his assistant came to the resort as well to take photos of us. (Sorry, but i will not be sharing our family photos here). Their service took around 2 hours.

After the photo session, we are already itching to dip and dive into their pool. In no time, most of us are rushing and swimming at the resort's pool.

We had up until 5pm to stay at the pool swimming, singing and having fun at their nice resort. The water was a bit cold at their infinity pool that time so I didn't stay much in the pool, but the kids and the teens have so much energy swimming and staying in the water.

We got 3 rooms during our stay (1 master and 2 guestrooms) which are all air-conditioned and spacious.  The kitchen was also spacious and we had our dinner and lunch at the gazebo where we had our buffet. There are quite numerous no. of toilets there, if I'm not mistaken there are 2 upstairs and 2 downstairs.

Villa Escudero Plantation and Resort day Tour with Lunch

Our family went at Villa Escudero Plantation and resort for a day tour.  Actually, we got lost on our way there since our rented driver didn't want to ask for directions. Arghh... if only we knew of the google map or waze app then I'm pretty sure we got there with ease.

Anyway, arrived at Villa Escudero in no time and we are greeted with beautiful natural surroundings with lush trees and all. It was almost Christmas time when we visited there so there are nice Christmas lanterns and decors. We enjoyed our ride to the resort proper because a carabao-drawn cart accompanied by a musician and singers serenade us with folk songs. However, I'm also a bit sad bec. the carabao (named Mutya) must have a hard time pulling our cart  because we are 18 all in all.  Going there during the holidays was not the right thing to do, I must say. Why? The place is too crowded with people eating at the "fake" waterfalls that only made me dizzy because of the very strong current.

We had our lunch at hydroelectric Labasin Falls, which I said was over crowded that day being December (21). There is a long line at the buffet table and when it is our turn there's not much food left at the table. We even had to go to our buffet tables but still the same, long lines and not much food because some people put a huge mountain like food on their plates hahaha.. The staff are not quick to replenish bec. the kitchen is far from the buffet table aside from them going to the water and stepping on the big rocks. We didn't enjoy the food that we had like pansit, chicken, lumpia etc) The taste is just ok and nothing spectacular.

After eating at the table with cold water on our feet, we watched a Philippine cultural show where native dances are shown, which we enjoyed. It was also fun to have picture takings with the singers and dancers wearing Filipino costumes.

There are also pools at the back end where you can swim if you stayed at their resort. A bamboo raft was also available where you can paddle and cruise along the river and it was the activity that my nieces and nephews actually enjoyed. A life vest must be worn all the time even if you know how to swim.

We also toured the family-owned church museum with tons of antique relics and artifacts. We learned that those collections are dated back from Pre-History, Spanish colonial times and World War II.

Despite the sad and annoying things that we encountered on our visit at Villa Escudero, still, we had a good time and it was a must see place too bec. they are showcasing Philippine heritage.

Tips for Packing for a Weekend

Are you about to check an adventure off your bucket list with a weekend trip? Maybe you have a girls’ weekend planned or are simply visiting family.  Whatever the occasion, you’ll certainly need to pack a suitcase.  If you’re flying, an overhead compartment sized suitcase is sufficient to accommodate your needs for the weekend. Follow these packing tips from the travel professionals and you’ll be on your way to making wonder memories!

Novice travelers tend to make the mistake of over packing. Make a mental note of the activities scheduled for the weekend and this will give you the needed direction for packing. Comfortable shoes or boots for the plane trip or car trip can also be worn throughout the weekend. Depending on your evening plans, one other pair of shoes should suffice for such a short trip. Take advantage of the awesome deals offered by Groupon coupons and add a fresh outfit from Torrid for your trip. Don’t forget your hostess gift if you’re staying with friends or family.

It’s a good idea to travel with a larger purse and pack your smaller purse.  Your electronics can be stored in the larger purse and all the chargers can be placed in the small purse which will be packed in the suitcase.  Instead of piling your clothing in the suitcase, roll each garment. This will prevent wrinkles and allow for more efficient packing. Place rolled garments on the outer edges of the suitcase interior and work your way in. Cosmetic and toiletry bags can be placed in the center of the rolled clothing. This will add coverage and protection if there are any breakables in your toiletry or cosmetic bags.  Take advantage of the suitcase pockets for lingerie and socks.

Finally, ensure that there is a visible name and address card on the suitcase completed with your up to date contact information if you do decide to check your luggage or gate check it at the last minute. Have a grand time on your journey and enjoy the memories for years to come!

One Great Adventure at the Blue Mountains

Here's another look back at my travels in Australia, the Land Down Under.

One weekend my brother-in-law told us to get ready for another fun-filled adventure. I wasn't aware that we are going to the BLUE MOUNTAINS and  THREE SISTERS or even if I am aware, I have no idea what to expect. So off we go on a long distance driving up where lush greeneries are plenty. I didn't know that it will require a lot of walking so I wasn't able to wear a rubber shoes that time but my attire was comfortable enough.

The Greater Blue Mountains Area is listed on November 29, 2000 as one of the World Heritage Area by UNESCO. There are lots of activities that you can do while at the Blue Mountains like rock climbing, walking down or nature walks at Three Sisters, canyoning, and more.Blue Mountains NSW Australia 1
It was cold and foggy when we got there but that doesn't stop us from exploring Blue Mountains National Park. We had our photos taken at the view deck where we can see Blue Mountains and Three Sisters Sandstone rock formation.

Blue Mountains NSW AustraliaBlue Mountains NSW Australia 4Walking down the stone steps called "The Giant Stairway" took us around over an hour !!. That was a long trail indeed. My sister was pregnant at that time so me and Micah just walked down to have an adventure.

It was so windy when arrived at the The Three Sisters 'bridge. I always hold on to the grills because for fear that I might be blown away like the hat of my niece. It's a once in a lifetime adventure for me and my niece, Micah.

Our 6D/5N Singapore Itinerary

We've always wanted to go to Singapore for a visit but budget and schedule hinder us from flying there.   My sister's friend who is already living there also keeps on inviting us to their house so finally we're able to have a vacation there and we all had a grand time.

passportAll the itinerary where made by my sister so when I flew to Singapore with my mom and SIL with her daughter, I have no clue where we are going so I just followed.  Here is our 6D/5N Singapore Itinerary which is really short for a vacation because the 2 days where eaten up by the arrival and departure days, so all in all we only had 4 complete days in Singapore.

We flew via Cebu Pacific that has Terminal at NAIA 3. We safely arrived in Singapore after 3 1/2 hours at Changi Budget Terminal. The flight was a breeze and we passed the Immigration quickly enough.
